The Project: Headquarters for the Society of Thoracic Surgeons
About the Space:
The Society of Thoracic Surgeons new headquarters was recently completed at 633 N. St. Clair in Chicago. This 21,000 sq. ft. space has a multitude of conferencing capabilities. From the state of the art boardroom featuring a 90” LED TV, seating for 18 people and natural lighting to the many huddle rooms perfect for small groups and team discussions. There is no lack of conferencing capabilities in this space.
What Makes It Unique:
The headquarters features a sizable library with conferencing and meeting capability as well as home to STS’s vast book collection. Workstations with sit-stand capability perimeter the space, allowing for a large number of employees to enjoy natural sunlight. The spacious café has room for everyone to eat and mingle comfortably, doubling the staff use and enjoyment from the previous space. Lastly the space has already enhanced collaboration and productivity with the increased use of the huddle meeting rooms.
The Impact:
The Society of Thoracic Surgeons is a Chicago based medical specialty professional society in the field of cardiothoracic surgery. Membership worldwide includes more than 7,000 surgeons, researchers and other health care professional who are part of the cardiothoracic surgery team. Having this renovated office allows them to hold meetings, conferences and host people from around the world in their new professional, technology-oriented environment. This space also accommodates growth; while retaining an open and spacious feel within identical square footage of their previous office, with an efficiently designed work space that promotes employee health and collaboration; and an attractive, more colorful décor with enhanced STS branding.
Working with ICG:
