Northwestern University Prosthstetics and Orthotics Center (NUPOC) is a state-of- the-art education and research facility and one of only nine such schools in the United States to provide such programs.
A significant aspect of the project is the Motion Analysis Research Laboratory. This lab uses advanced technology to identify human movement. It contains a complex system of force plates that measure pressure effort and force related to various human movements associated with prosthetics and orthotic devices.
The facility provides an environment that promotes energetic collaboration between faculty, students and patients.
