The Joyce Foundation, based in Chicago, is a veritable force in the Great Lakes Region. The organization provides grants in the areas of Education, Employment, Environment, Culture, Democracy, and Gun Violence Prevention.
The space is modern and clean; utilizing light limestone, glass, oak veneer wall panels, and LED fixtures. The new office is made up of a large reception area, a boardroom, smaller conference room/library, private offices, and a large kitchen/gathering space for employees. The combined need for privacy and collaboration influenced the design of the space. The private offices have large glass fronts to allow light to travel throughout the office interior.
Attaining LEED Gold Certification was a primary achievement for The Joyce Foundation project.
